GroceryGenie ("we", "our", "us") provides grocery planning and shopping tools to users worldwide.

Depending on features you use, we may collect account details such as email address, grocery list content, app usage events, crash logs, device/app identifiers, notification tokens, location data, and approximate technical metadata such as app version, device type, language, and region.
3. Location Data
GroceryGenie may access and collect location data to provide location-based grocery and shopping features, such as helping users find nearby stores, improve shopping-related suggestions, support location-based reminders, or provide app functionality that depends on the user's location.
Depending on the permission granted by the user, location data may include approximate location or precise location. The app may collect location data while the app is in use. Where required for location-based features, GroceryGenie may also access location data in the background, including when the app is closed or not actively in use.
Background location access is used only to support location-based GroceryGenie features that need to work even when the app is not open, such as location-based reminders, nearby grocery or shopping assistance, or other user-enabled location features. We do not sell location data, and we do not use background location data for unrelated advertising purposes.
Users can control location access at any time through their device settings. If location permission is denied or disabled, some location-based features of the app may not work correctly.
4. Background Location Disclosure and Consent
Before GroceryGenie requests background location access, the app shows a prominent in-app disclosure explaining why background location is needed, how it is used, and that location may be accessed even when the app is closed or not actively in use.
Users are given a clear choice to agree or decline before background location access is requested. If a user does not agree, GroceryGenie will not request background location permission, and features that require background location may be unavailable or limited.
5. Authentication
GroceryGenie supports Email/Password, Google Sign-In, and Guest Mode. Authentication is managed through Firebase services.
6. Services and SDKs We Use
We use Firebase for backend/database and authentication, Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications, Google Analytics and Firebase Analytics for usage analytics, Firebase Crashlytics for stability monitoring, Google ML Kit for on-device or ML-powered features, maps/location-related services where applicable, and advertising SDKs for ad delivery.
7. How We Use Data
We process data to operate core features, sync user data, improve performance, measure app usage, send optional notifications, provide AI/ML experiences, support location-based grocery and shopping features, serve ads where applicable, and detect/prevent abuse.
8. Ads and Third-Party Processing
Ads in the app may be delivered by third-party providers that process certain identifiers and usage data under their own privacy policies. Third-party services may process data on servers located in multiple countries. We do not sell personal information or location data.
9. Data Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share data only with service providers required to run the app such as hosting, analytics, crash reporting, messaging, ML features, maps/location-related services, and ads, or when required by law.
Location data may be processed by service providers that help us deliver location-based features. These providers are used only as necessary to operate and improve GroceryGenie services.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. No system is completely secure, so we continuously improve safeguards.

GroceryGenie is not intended for children under the age required by local law without parental consent. If you believe a child has provided personal data, please contact us.
14. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date and, when appropriate, through in-app notice.
